Centralizing how your video players are distributed on your site is a great way to save time in publishing new video content.
Whether you are streaming your video from a trusted Content Delivery Network (CDN) or you have all of your videos stored on your own Flash Media Server (FMS), or you are streaming from your own server as progressive download, centralizing the distribution of your video player is important. It saves time when publishing new video content, and it's extremely easy to setup.
There's a very simple but effective way for you to use FLV Player to accomplish this task.
In the downloadable package, there is a folder called "flvplayer_no_flash". This folder contains everything that is needed to use FLV Player on any website.
In this folder you will find the following files and directories:
flvplayer (folder)
swfoject (folder)
FLVplayer.swf
index.html
This main directory, once uploaded to your site, can become the central FLV Player distribution point for any articles or pages you would like to publish video content.
Here are the steps required to make the "flvplayer_no_flash" directory the centralized player distribution point:
1) Upload the entire "flvplayer_no_flash" directory to your server. You can change the name of this folder to anything you like. This folder will become the central video delivery source for any videos that you may like to display on your site.
2) Customize the embed code to point to your "flvplayer_no_flash" folder.
For example, this is the embed code as it is in the provided index.html:

Please Upgrade Your Flash Player

Now, to use this embed code in any article or page with the "flvplayer_no_flash" as your central video delivery source, you can simply use the following embed code to place a video on any page on the site, without having to create multiple instances of the FLVplayer.swf or any of the other directories contained within the "flvplayer_no_flash" folder.
Please Upgrade Your Flash Player

In the new embed code, you can see that the source for all of the needed FLV Player files is now absolute urls pointing to the "flvplayer_no_flash" directory. This allows you to use the FLV Player embed code anywhere on your website. You can then use the FLV Player FlashVars to specify your video source, width, height, colors, transparencies, etc. More information on the available Flashvars can be found here.
